DOUGHTY, Laird (1938 - 2005) Suddenly and unexpectedly at Versa Care, St. Catharines on Friday, May 6, 2005. He is at peace with his beloved wife Dona (1998). Dearest father of Stevan and his wife Lynn. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Andrew and Stephanie. He will be greatly missed by his sister Donna (John) Swinton, and their children Mary Anne (Mac) Bishop, Elizabeth (Lloyd) De Grow & their son Johnathon, David (Laurie) Swinton & their daughter Grace, and brother in law of Robert (Wendy) Jury, Joanne (the late Jim) Gormley, and Sandra Darte & their families. Laird will be sadly missed by his special friend Pat in North Carolina. He is predeceased by his sister Shirley Anne (1937) and sister-in-law Sharon (1985). Laird should be remembered for his kind and caring service as a funeral director in both St. Catharines and in London, ON, and for his community involvement with the Lions Club, Royal Canadian Legion, Fort Erie YMCA, The Wheelmen Bicycle Club, the Historical Automobile Society of Canada and the Port Dalhousie Yacht Club. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be held at the Niagara St. Chapel of Butler Funeral Home, 424 Niagara St., (south of Scott) on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2:30 until service time at 3:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated. - 5/9/2005 - ID6163689
