GRANT, ETHEL VIOLET Ethel V. Grant of Woodstock and formerly of Canterbury, passed away May 23, 2005 at Carleton Memorial Hospital, Woodstock, NB. Born in Canterbury in 1910, she was a daughter of the late Reuben and Levina (Dickinson) Dow. When Ethel lived in Canterbury she was active in the St. John Ambulance, the L.O.B.A., the Baptist Church Ladies Aid, the Canterbury Ladies Auxiliary and the Canterbury Seniors Country Club. She was a member of the Marne Baptist Church and served as organist at the Canterbury Primitive Baptist Church for many years. In recent years she worshiped at St. Mark's United Church with her family. Ethel is survived by one son, Otis Grant (Anne), Canterbury; a grandson, Allen Grant (Rachel), New Maryland; a granddaughter, Heather Murchland (Randall), Kelly Creek; great grandchildren, Jennifer Wright, Evan Wright, Dylan Murchland, Kimberlee Grant and Amanda Grant; a sister in law, Peggy Grant, Utah, USA; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Eldon J. Grant in 1971, two sisters, Lela Carmichael and Elva Russell and five brothers, Guy, Otis, Stanley, Kenneth and Harold Dow. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Mark's United Church, Canterbury on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Beverly C. S. Brazier officiating. Interment will be in Marne Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Gavel, Gerald Gavel, Chris Grant, Evan Wright, Allison Smith and Randy Murchland.
