Owen Francis CONNOLLY

CONNOLLY, OWEN FRANCIS "OPPY" - 74, of Dartmouth, NS died May 24, 2005 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB he was the son of the Late Arthur G. and Catherine (Phillips) Connolly. Owen retired from the Canadian Military as a Master Warrant Officer after 26 years of service. He then worked for the province of Nova Scotia as a Health inspector for 12 years. Owen will be sadly missed by family and friends. His home was always open to friends and loved ones. He enjoyed nothing more than preparing meals and entertaining. He loved being "Oppy" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They gave him great pleasure. Owen had a wonderful sense of humour which he kept until the very end. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Gloria Elizabeth (Gilbert); daughters Cindy (William) McKenna, Kathy (Brian) Munroe; son Arthur (Johanne); grandchildren Jennifer, Kenny, Shaun, Christine, Kim and Kevin; great grandchildren Charish and Christian. He was predeceased by a son Christopher, a daughter Patty, a sister Doris and a brother Gerry. Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 7-9PM today and Friday. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday all in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Cremation to follow. Burial at a later date. Flowers or donations may be made to a charity of choice.
