HOOPER, BARRY MANNING - Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, on May 24, 2005, Mr. Barry Manning Hooper, husband of the late Sharon Lynn (Richardson) Hooper, of Wilson's Beach, NB. Born in Blacks Harbour on April 30, 1951, he was the son of the late Omar and Doris (Kinney) Hooper. A loving father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by one son, Stephen Hooper (Shawna Matthews) and one daughter, Wendy Hooper (Wilfred Cline), both of Richardson, NB; one step-daughter, Janet (Russell) Ross of Digby, NS; five grandchildren, Tyler, Josh, Liam, Erika and Andrew; two step-grandchildren, Billy Jo Duran and Samantha Lord; three sisters, Linda (Garnet) Matheson of Back Bay, Lorna (Brian) Hooper of St. Stephen and Sally (Richard) Parks of St. George; a friend and brother, Dana Richardson; one aunt, Valerie Cooke of Back Bay; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a step-daughter, Janette Lord. Barry had been employed by the NB Department of Transportation as a deck hand on the Deer Island Ferries. He loved yard sales, mowing lawns, and had a passion for boats and the ocean. He will be resting at the Church of Christ, Lord's Cove, from where the service will be held on Friday at 2 pm with Rev. Conrad Cline and Rev. Gordon Cook officiating, followed by interment in the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder's Head. Visiting at the church on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Pall Bearers are: Reid Kierstead, Jason Hooper, Anthony Parks, Owen Duran, Colin Mitchell and Troy Richardson. In Barry's memory, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Kidney Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
