Miriam G. "Mim" Duffy 1908 - 2005 HILLSBOROUGH, NB - Miriam G. "Mim" Duffy, 97, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the Moncton Hospital after a brief illness. Mim was born in Hillsborough on March 20, 1908 the daughter of the late Karl S. and Florence (Bishop) Duffy. She graduated from Acadia University then she was in the Royal Canadian Air Force retiring in 1946 and was also former manager of W.H. Duffy Sons Ltd. She attended the St. Mary's Anglican Church. Mim was very active in the YWCA for many years and was also secretary treasurer of the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough for over 25 years. She was a great lady who will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her sister, Katharine Macarthur of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; nieces, Kathy Young of Sudbury, Ont, Susan Woods of Toronto, Ont, Marion Bentley (Bill), Barbara Pavelich and Mary Jane Horbatuk (Jamie) all of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; nephew, Karl Macarthur (Kathy) of Peterborough, Ont.; several great nieces and great nephews; also by her special friends, Carol and Frank Wilson of Fredericton and Joyce MacFarlane of Hillsborough. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Leonard Duffy; sister-in-law, Emma and by brother-inlaw, Dr. Fred Macarthur. Honoring Mim's own wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside memorial service will be held at Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 2:00pm. The family would like to say a special thank you to Mim's wonderful caregivers, Christine, Angela, Peggy and Sharon.
