McGREGOR, Melba Louise (Wardlaw) Peacefully after a courageous battle with leukemia, surrounded by her family, on Thursday April 28th, 2005, at the age of 76. Beloved wife of Roy McGregor of Nepean. Devoted and dear mother of Rob (Leith) of Vancouver, Ted (Kim) and Bruce (Karen). Loving grandmother of Katie, Ceilidh, Jennie, Stephen, Ciaran, Devin and Nia. Predeceased by her parents Ed and Emily Wardlaw and her sister Gertrude. Friends are invited to join Melba's family at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Sunday, May 1, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held Monday in the Chapel at 11 a.m. A sincere thank-you to Dr. Lisa Cross for her extraordinary care, compassion and friendship during Melba's illness and this very difficult period in her life. Thank you also to Dr. Taylor and staff, especially Shirley Francis and Darlene Lavimodiere, at the Haematology Department of the Queensway-Carleton Hospital over the last several months. Lastly, a special thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Hospice at the May Court whose loving care made such a difference in the quality of Melba's life over the past several days. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Queensway-Carleton Hospital and the Hospice at the May Court would be appreciated by the family. Life will never be the same Mom but will continue with your love in our hearts, with the lessons you have provided to all of us as our teacher, and with the knowledge that we have been touched by greatness.
