JOHNSON, Frank Weldon 1921-2005 (RCAF, Master Warrant Officer, Retired) After a short and courageous battle with cancer, on April 30, 2005. Frank will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his dear wife Pauline (nee Symchych), who he married 56 years ago; daughters Velma and Mona; grandchildren Dana, Tyler, Kristopher, Jason and Darren; and sisters Millie, Hazel, Merna, Verna and Violet. Frank was born in Blucher, Saskatchewan, on September 6, 1921, one of 10 children of Charles and Elsie Johnson (deceased). Frank joined the RCAF in 1941 in Saskatoon and served during the war in Canada and overseas, in England (Bomber Command). During his career, Frank also spent 4 years in 3 Wing (Germany) and 2 years as part of peacekeeping efforts in Kashmir and Pakistan (UNMOGIP). Frank retired from the RCAF in 1974. Frank will be fondly remembered by friends, neighbours and family for his sense of humour; for his love of cottage life, fishing, gardening, the stock market, lottery tickets, cribbage, strawberry picking, canning tomatoes and pickling; and for his willingness to always lend a hand to anyone and everyone. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
