OBITUARY IVY (PARKES) SAXBERG She had a long and happy life, but age finally caught up to Ivy in her ninety-eighth year, and she passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8. Direct, loving, cheeky, opinionated and funny, Ivy was a memorable woman. She will be especially missed by her two nephews and their families, and by her dear friends Irma and Muriel. For over twenty-five years, Irma took on the role of surrogate daughter to Ivy, providing love, companionship and care, especially in recent months. We, her family, are in her debt. Typically, Ivy wanted no funeral service, not even an obituary, on the grounds that there'd be no one left to read it. But she made friends everywhere she went, and there will be many out there who, while saddened to learn of her passing, will reflect happily in their memories of her. She was a neat lady!
