Margaret E. BARRETT

BROWN, Margaret E. "Betty". At the age of eighty-seven years, of Newport, passed away in Newport on Sunday, May 15, 2005. She was born in Montreal, PQ on December 3, 1917, the daughter of Philip and Marie (Darragh) Barrett. Betty loved animals and bird watching. Over her lifetime she rescued and kept many animals. On September 13, 1941 Betty married George C. Brown, who survives her. She is also survived by her daughter, Diane Brown-Couture and her husband Michael of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, her grandsons, James Couture and Quintin Couture and his wife Jessica, all of Wareham, Massachusetts, her brother, Alan Barrett of Montreal, PQ and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, James Barrett. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire, contributions in Betty's memory may be made to the Frontier Animal Society of Vermont, 502 Strawberry Acres Road, Newport, VT 05855.
