PEMBERTON, Cliff Hudson. Passed away on May 21, 2005, at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. He was in his eightieth year. While cancer clouded his final months, he had enjoyed good health until this year. A veteran of World War II, he fought with the Princess Pats in Italy and served as a medic with the same regiment in Belgium and Holland. Although he was too sick to watch the recent VE Day celebrations, his days in Holland after the war were some of his best, and he kept a friendship with the Odink family, whom he met there, for sixty years. Cliff spent the first half of his life in Montreal and the second in Mississauga, Ontario. After the war he worked as an accountant at Consumers Glass in Montreal before moving to Ontario in 1964. He will be missed and remembered by his wife Gloria Rose (Power), his sons Gary and Steve, his daughters-in-law Josie and Kathy, and his granddaughter Star.
