EDEY, Gordon Elliott Suddenly in hospital at Carleton Place, Ontario on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 in his 73rd year. Son of the late Moses Elliott and Annie Edey. Beloved husband of Nora Lancaster. Dear father of Don (Stephanie Silverson) and Brenda McCooeye (Tim) all of Carleton Place. Cherished grandpa of Aiden. Dear brother of Harold (Lois) of Belleville, Merle Clark of Belleville and Betty McRae (Andrew) of Almonte. Lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his sister Bernice Mercier. Gordon was a former contractor in Ottawa for many years and in retirement grew strawberries in Carleton Place. Friends may call at the 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 noon until time of funeral service to be held in the chapel at 1 p.m. with Reverend Blair Corcoran officiating. Interment United Cemeteries. Donations to the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation or the Zion-Memorial United Church C.A.R.E. Project would be appreciated.
