Stephen R. VICKERS

VICKERS, Stephen R., On Saturday, May 21, 2005, Stephen R. Vickers passed away at St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton. Born in Toronto, in 1939, Stephen was a resident of Hamilton for most of his life. Predeceased by his parents, Stephen H. Vickers and Ruth Ridley Vickers. Stephen is survived by his sister, Virginia Vickers of St. Catharines. Stephen was diagnosed with cancer in March and was responding to treatment, but took a bad turn on Saturday and died within hours. The suddenness of his pass ing has shocked all who knew him. His family and friends would like to express their gratitude first to the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, for their care and encouragement, to Dr. David Ellis of the Juravinski Cancer Centre for his kindness, and fin ally to the staff of St. Peter's, who made Stephen comfortable in the last few weeks of his life, and ensured that his passing was dignified. Their care and concern was exceptional. Stephen is at the NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE CHAPEL of the MORGAN FUNERAL H OMES, 415 Regent Street, where his family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Vigil will be held at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11 o'clock.
