Mr. Kenneth Gordon Myles June 15, 1924 - May 25, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Bowman Funeral Home MYLES: Kenneth Gordon a resident of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, formerly Chatham, passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of the late Hazel Myles (nee Bicum) for over 42 years. Father of Dr. John Eric Myles of Ottawa. Survived by sisters in law Mrs. Elizabeth Myles of Kenora and Mrs. Ruby Bicum of Blenheim. Also survived by several nephews and nieces. Predeceased by parents George Myles and Irene Pinch and brother Colin Myles (1989). He served in the Royal Winnipeg Rifles during World War II, participating in the D-Day invasion of France and the liberation of Belgium and Holland. Upon returning to Canada, he was admitted to the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (1950) and Manitoba (1954). Moved to Chatham in 1957 and commenced the practice of accounting in Michigan in 1960. He was recognized a Certified Public Accountant in Michigan in 1965. In the 1970s and 1980s he won high regard for his expertise in international relations, advising the United States government in this area. He held the rank of honorary Colonel. He will be remembered and missed by many family members, friends and former associates in Canada, the United States and abroad. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, June 2, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. at the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham (519-352-2390). A funeral service will be held Friday, June 3, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Canadian Diabetes Association.
