LISTON, DARRELL LEROY - Passed away Monday, May 30, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born December 31, 1919 in Millville, NB son of the late John and Lilly (Smith) Liston and husband of the late Aurelia (Thompson) Liston. Darrell is survived by two sons, David Liston (Cheryl) Peace River, AB., and Wellman Liston, Grand Bay-Westfield, NB., five grandchildren, Brian Liston (Jennifer), Sheila Liston, Paula Young (Dallas), Peter Liston (Janis), Julie Sorenson (David), five great grandchildren, and sisters in law Glenna and Geraldine. After graduating from Fredericton High School, Darrell enlisted in the R.C.A.F. Medical Core, where he trained in Toronto, ON., as an X-ray Technician, retiring in June 1983 from the Saint John Regional Hospital. During his career he was a member of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiological Technicians, serving two terms as president of the NB division of the C.A.M.R.T. He served in the Canadian Militia 102 Manning Depot in Saint John and was discharged with the rank of Second Lieutenant. Darrell also served as a President of the Grand Bay Home and School Association, a Cub Scout Leader for twenty years, and Captain of the Christian Service Brigade of the Grand Bay Baptist Church for fifteen years. Darrell was a dedicated Sunday School Teacher and Deacon of the Grand Bay Baptist Church. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #22 in his earlier years, as well as, a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge, Queenstown, NB., where he served as Master, County Master, and Commander of the Royal Scarlet. Darrell was predeceased by brothers Weldon, Kieth, Owen, Willard, Clayton and Raymond, sisters Dorie Shaw, Elaine Merritt, and Maxine Lyons. Arrangements are entrusted to Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) with visiting Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. An Orange Lodge Service will be held Thursday at 6:45 pm. The Funeral Service will take place Friday, June 3rd, 2005 at the Grand Bay Baptist Church at 11:00 am with interment in the church cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall.
