Christina Flett Peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre Hospital, surrounded by her family at the end, Christina Flett of Berens River passed away on Monday, May 30, 2005 at the age of 48 years. She is survived by her children Bailey (Shannon) Berens-Flett and Nicole (Joseph) McKay, special grandchildren; Lennie, Christian, Raylene, Ricky, Isaiah, Tristan, Ian, Brittney, Donnelly, Scott and Delaney, special companion Albert LaForrest, sisters; Bella Berens and Jessie Bittern, brothers; Roderick Nanacowap (Marsha), Alex Goosehead, Chester Berens (Pearl), Thomas Berens, Dulus Berens, uncle Wilson Goosehead, in-laws Moses and Bertha Flett. There are numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her children; Clarey, David, Donnelly and Romona, parents William and Mary Berens, brothers Peter Berens, James Semple, Norman Berens, Charlie Goosehead and four brothers in infancy, sisters Heather Cochrane, Catherine McKay, Maggie Felix and Catherine Berens, nephew Lenny Goosehead and grandson Ashford Flett. Prayers and wake services were held on Tuesday, May 31, from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue at Parr, Winnipeg. Wake services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 at Berens River. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berens River United Church, Berens River Manitoba with Rev. Roy Bouchie officiating. Interment to follow at Berens River Cemetery.
