VANDINE, CHARLOTTE ISABEL The death of Charlotte Isabel VanDine of Fredericton, NB, occurred May 31st, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a brief illness. Born at Fredericton in 1925. Charlotte was the youngest child of the late Robert B. and Julia (Pugh) VanDine. She was also predeceased by brothers, Reid and Ernest, a sister in law Hazel and brother - in - law Arthur Lord. She is survived by one sister, Barbara Lord of Toronto, a brother, Robert (Aline) of Ottawa, a sister - in - law Muriel and cousin Shirley Weyman, both of Fredericton, and by a number of nieces and nephews. Charlotte graduated from U.N.B. with a B.A. Degree in 1947. Following a year of Secretarial College at Boston she entered upon a long and successful business career at Montreal with the Canadian International Paper Company, during most of which she served as Corporate Secretary of the company. Always an active supporter of U.N.B., she was also a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women, and served for a period as President of the Federation of Business Professional Women's Clubs of Canada. In that capacity and subsequently as International Secretary she traveled extensively throughout the world. Following retirement about 15 years ago, she returned to her family home on George Street in Fredericton. She has been involved in volunteer work, particularly with York Regional Library, and has interested herself in a variety of community endeavors. She has also enjoyed lawn bowling and bridge. Visitation will be held at the McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, on Thursday, June 2nd, 2005 from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 3rd, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Ralph Irving of Brunswick Street Baptist Church will officiate.
