Harold Latermore Forsythe 1922 - 2005 Harold Latermore Forsythe, 83, of Dr. Kenneth Spencer Memorial Home, and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on June 4, 2005 at the nursing home. Harold was born in Moncton, on March 29, 1922, the son of the late John and Laura (Steeves) Forsythe. He worked at J. Steeves & Sons Hardware Store for 25 years, and also worked for the Department of Transportation. He was a member of the First Hillsborough Baptist Church. Harold was a member of the Hillsborough Legion Branch # 32, and he also volunteered for the Hillsborough & Salem Railroad for many years, he was a member of the Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years, he also was the gate keeper of Grey's Island Cemetery for many years. Harold was very devoted to his community he would pick up mail for different businesses in Hillsborough and also was there for the seniors, to get groceries or for a drive to the doctors, whenever anyone needed anything they could always count on Harold to help. Above all things Harold took great pride in his family, he cherished all the times spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a very special man who will be missed by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his loving children, Marsha Carson of Hillsborough, Connie Rossiter (Jim) of Lower Coverdale and Hal E. Forsythe (Jeannine) of Sherwood, PEI; sister, Verna Steeves (Gerald) of Moncton; brothers Murdock (Faye), Aubrey (Joyce), Carl (Alene) all of Moncton; brother-in-law, Alex McConkey of Pembrook, ON; by his precious grandchildren, Shawnda, Christina, Joanne and Nicholas; by his eight great grandchildren; and also by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley (Wilson) Forsythe; sisters, Evelyn French and Doris McConkey. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Legion service will be held on Monday evening at 7pm from the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held from the First Hillsborough Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 2pm with Rev. Dean MacDonald officiating and Rev. Jack Allen assisting. Interment will be in the Grey's Island Cemetery. Following the funeral service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Church Family Life Center for further fellowship and refreshments. Donations to First Hillsborough Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
