Margaret Whitfield , 1916 - , 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home On Tuesday June 7, 2005 May passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Ben in 1998. May is survived by her loving daughter Phyllis Kelly (Brian), son Gil Whitfield, grandsons; Brian Jr., Ben (Deb), Matt Kelly, Lisa and David Whitfield also three great grandsons; Adam, Noah, and Justin Kelly, and sister-in-law Jean Duncan. May was born in Winnipeg at the old Grace Hospital. She and her husband Ben lived most of their lives in St. James. She was a long time member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and had many life long friends. For many years May and Ben had a cottage at Betula Bay in the Whiteshell, where they shared happy times with friends. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Gwen Kalansky for her professional and devoted care, as well as the nurses on 3 south Grace General Hospital. Particular thanks to Helen Borody, May’s faithful friend for fifty years for countless acts at kindness. A memorial service will be held on June 11, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
