HURLEY, LEROY ALBION - At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB, the death of Mr. Leroy Albion Hurley, 81, of Leonardville, Deer Island, devoted husband of the late Charlotte Eva (Smith) Hurley, occurred on June 9, 2005. Born in Leonardville on April 14, 1924, he was a son of the late Frank "Sam" and Grace (Lord) Hurley. He worked as a fisherman and Captain of the Sardine Carrier "The Senator Neil", for Connors Bros. Ltd. for 45 years. Roy was a member of the Leonardville Church of Christ, a 20 year member of the Luxor Shrine Club of Saint John, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge St. Marks #55 St. Andrews, and of the Abanaki #55 Lodge of Lambertville. Surviving are his loving children, daughters Linda (Tim) Stuart of Chamcook, and Pamela (Reid) Cline of Fairhaven; cherished grandchildren, Bryce Stuart, Mark Cline, Alyce Stuart, Dayna Cline, and Alex Cline; brother, William (Mattie) Hurley of Lords Cove; sister, Virginia Conley of Leonardville; sister-in-law, Gloria Hurley of the Glebe Road; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at the Leonardville Church of Christ from where the service will be held on Sunday, June 12 at 1 pm, with Rev. Jeff Conley and Rev. Conrad Cline officiating, followed by interment in the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder's Head. Visiting hours at the Church of Christ on Saturday evening from 6-8 pm. A Masonic Service will be held at the church on Saturday evening at 7:45 pm. Memorial donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
