LOSSING, Billy Edward Age 79, of Bradenton, Florida and formerly of Grand Blanc, Michigan died January 7, 2005 at Avalon Hospice in Flint, Michigan. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Saturday, January 22, 2005 followed by the memorial service at 1:00pm at Hill Funeral Home, 11712 S. Saginaw St, Grand Blanc (810) 694-4141. Burial will take place at 2:00pm at Evergreen Cemetery. Pastor David Mulder of Fenton United Methodist Church will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice, 2360 Stone Bridge, Flint, MI 48532. Billy was born on February 25, 1925 in Windsor, Ontario, the son of Edward and Grace Lossing. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a warrant officer from 1943-1945. He was a graduate of the University of Toronto and remained an active member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He married Jean on August 17th, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan. He spent most of his career at General Motors, starting in the Chevrolet Motor Division and retiring from Service Parts Operation in 1992. He spent his retirement years in Bradenton, Florida by volunteering as a child advocate for the juvenile court system, provided tax assistance through H&R Block, and served as President of his condominium association. He is survived by his five children, Ann Louise Ruwart and husband Timothy of Flushing, Karen Lossing of Whitehall, David Lossing and wife Suzanne of Linden, Michael Lossing, wife Heather and grandchild, Alec of Clarkston, and Elizabeth Lossing of Minneapolis; brother, Jack Lossing and wife Grace of Leamington, Ontario; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean in 1986 and brothers Melvin Charles "Bus", Courtney Milton "Bub" and sister Margaret. The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice nursing staff, Dr. Barbara Mercer and the 10th floor nursing staff at McLaren Hospital in Flint. Published in the Windsor Star on 1/15/2005.
