GIRARD, Mary Catherine "Cac" (nee Martin) (Deschaine) It is with overwhelming sadness that we have to say "good-bye" to a beautiful loving, wonderful, compassionate mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and wife who passed away peacefully at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital with her family by her side on January 20, 2005 at the age of 66 years. Beloved wife of Raymond Deschaine. Greatest Mom in the world to Mary-Gwen Wigcherink (Raymond), Ann-Marie Graziano (Danny), Wendy Barke (Wilfred), Richard Girard (Amy), Irene Gagne (Roger), Janet Haig (Patrick), Anthony Girard (Cora). Greatest Stepmom to Gerald Deschaine (Pam), Roger Deschaine (Bev), Bernard Deschaine, Betty Murray (Kevin), Jim Deschaine (Ilene), Claire Laporte (Norm), Jeannette Deschaine, Marie Tierney (Mike) and Pauline Robinson (Doug). Grandma is already greatly missed by her 23 grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren and 7 great-step grandchildren. Cac went to be with her loving father Ernest Martin Sr., her loving brother Ernest Martin Jr., her sister-in-law Cindy Martin and to hold and play with her nieces Jessica and Vanessa Carlesimo, step-son Larry Deschaine and step-grandson Larry Deschaine. Cac is also survived by her mother Florence Martin, her adoring brothers and sisters Martha and Ernest Girard, Arthur Martin, Lorraine and Ron Deslippe, Diane and Hank Tymec, Gord Martin, Jean and Bob Clifford and Ken and Christine Martin. Missed already and forever loved by her family and many, many loving nieces and nephews. Cathy worked at Windsor Packers Meat Plant for 14 years and retired in January, 2004 from the Iler Lodge in Essex where she was a loving care-giver that touched the lives of her co-workers and everyone she met. Visiting Saturday, Jan. 22, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 23, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Procession leaves Monday, January 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. from Melady Funeral Home, 572 Notre Dame, Belle River, 728-1500 to St. Simon & St. Jude Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Parish Prayers Sunday 8:00 p.m. Interment St. Simon & St. Jude Cemetery. As an expression of your sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Missing Childrens Society of Canada. Our hearts are now broken but we draw comfort in knowing that we will one day see you again and feel your embrace. We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to the entire staff of the Intensive Care Unit at H.D.G.H. for all the care and compassion shown to our mother during the 36 days she spent in the unit. Special thanks to Rebecca for her outstanding commitment to our mom and our family. We love you dearly. A tree will be planted in memory of Mary Catherine Girard in the Melady Heritage Forest.
