THYS, Sylvia Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on January 24, 2005 at 79 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Peter Thys (1988). Loving mother of Helen (Gord) Pierce, John (Mitzi) Thys and Anthony Thys. Treasured Oma of Andrew, Ryan, Michelle, Joel, Natasha, and Charlotte. Predeceased by sister Sytske Bron, brothers Douwe and Andries Bron. Survived by sisters Hiltje Bron and Anke Smidt-Bron of Holland. Sylvia lived a full life having taught in the Netherlands, Indonesia and Windsor until her retirement in 1989. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, Oma and teacher, she also found time for a variety of volunteer service projects, which included birding and her pet passions of knitting, crocheting and gardening. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the V.O.N or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Cremation services have been held.
