McNORTON, Alfred "Fred" 76 years, passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 27, 2005 at Windsor Regional Hospital - Western Campus. Beloved husband for 56 years to Jeanette (nee Gagnon). Loving father of Ed McNorton and wife Pat of Tecumseh, Judy and husband Michael Adam of Georgetown, Rick McNorton and Cathy Morand of Tecumseh, Michael McNorton and Michelle Whaling of Tecumseh, Gary McNorton and wife Paula of Tecumseh. Loving grandfather to Michael, Melissa, Jessica, Julie, Michelle, Erica, Craig, Jennifer and greeting him in heaven, Krista. Great-grandfather to Cadence, Aleksandar and Maksim. Will be sadly missed by sisters Gladys Boivin, Evelyn Lessard, Genevieve McNeil and predeceased by sisters Eva, Marie and brothers Norman, Louis and Gordon. Fred was retired from the Tecumseh Public Works Department, a member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. Nicholas Point Council 4375 and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #261. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. K of C Prayers at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Marcotte Funeral Home & Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh (735-2830) on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Dwayne Adam officiating. Cremation will follow. In kindness, memorial donations to the New Church Building Fund c/o Annunciation Church or to Volunteer Drivers of the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Alfred McNorton in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held September 25, 2005. All are welcome. Published in the Windsor Star on 1/28/2005.
