STEWART, Gwen J. (nee Cowan) - Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (Hospital Drive Site) following a brief illness. She leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Harold. She was pre-deceased by her three sisters Jean (as an infant), Gladys Elliot and Marguerite Edgar. She leaves to mourn her passing, but celebrate her long life her son, Larry and his wife Elaine and her daughter, Marlene and her husband Don Hall. She was the devoted and much-loved grandmother to Chris Hall (Lisa), Bryan Stewart (Mary), Stephen Stewart (Lara), Leanne Mascoll (Alwin) and Julie Berenyi (George). Gwen was also the loving great grandmother of 6. A Funeral Service will be held at NISBETT FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, (600 Monaghan Rd S) on Friday, January 28, 2005 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A Reception will be held in the Nisbett Reception Centre immediately following the service. A private family interment will be held at Rosemount Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff of Empress Gardens Retirement Home for their compassionate care while Mother was a resident there.
