PARENT, ROLAND L. In his 81st year, peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital, Western Campus, on January 29th, 2005. Beloved husband of Evelyn (Roy); son of the late Ferdinand Parent (1985) and Eugenie Parent (Reaume) (1964). Dear father of Pierre & Lise Parent, Kingston; Gilles & Theresa Parent, Tecumseh; Richard Parent, Essex; and Roland R. Parent, Windsor. Dear Pepe of Philippe and Vivienne Parent of Kingston. Dear brother of Angeline Papineau (Real - 2002), Windsor; and Omer & Doris Parent, LaSalle; and the late Bernadette Parent (2003); Gerard (1989) & Marguerite (1997), Sylvain (1996) & Marie (1998); Adrien (1988) & Madeleine (2001), Nil (1944), twin brother Fernand (1978), Marcel (1998), Fr. Lucien o.m.i. (1979), Rosaire (1998) & Jenny (1993), and Rene (1989). Dear brother-in-law of Renee Parent, Quebec City; Annette & the late Bill (1990) Strong, Windsor; Wilfred & Marcelle Roy, London; Jeannette & Patrick Coffey, Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan; Rita King (Roy) and the late Ernest (1993), Chatham; Helen & Gregory Blonde (Roy), Chatham; and the late Norman Roy (1987), and the late Alice (2004) & Edmund Bechard (1985), Dearborn, Michigan. Godfather of Jean-Baptiste Parent and Rosalie Speal, both of Windsor. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Beloved friend of Evelyn and the late Eugene (1995) Lambert, lifelong friends of the Parent and Roy families. Member of Club de l'age d'or Jean-Paul II, Windsor; St. Jean Baptiste Society, Tecumseh; Chevalier de Colomb, Conseil St. Jerome, Windsor; and life member of Place Concorde, Windsor. Mr. Parent was employed at the Ford Motor Co. for 14 years. He was also employed at the Essex County Roman Catholic Separate School Board for 30 years working at St. Pius X School in Tecumseh. Visitation at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Road East, Windsor (519-253-7234), on Monday, January 31, from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 1, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Prayers at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Club de l'age d'or Jean-Paul II prayers at 7:30 p.m. Parish prayers at 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at St. Anne's Church (12233 Tecumseh Rd. E.) in Tecumseh for visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial at St. Anne's Cemetery to follow. Donations in memory of Roland may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Lung Association.
