GROSE, Stanley Merkel Wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Stan was the beloved husband and life partner of Jan Grose. Stan was predeceased by his parents Jim Grose & Clara (Merkel) and his loving wife Inez Vaughn (1974). Dearest father of his daughters Pat Zuk & Elton Garbus, Sue Renaud & Dan Harvieux, and Lori Black (1976). He was a devoted grandfather of David Zuk (1997), Stacy and Peter Hishchynsky (Ottawa), Jim and Monica Renaud (Lakeshore), Teri Renaud (Toronto), and David Renaud (Windsor). Cherished great-grandfather to Kayla, Amanda, Julia, Sarah & Christina. Brother-in-law of Elizabeth Lowery (Florida), Peter and Pat (2002) Clark (Ottawa). Uncle to Bradley (1997), Tracy, Gina and Great Uncle to Matias. He will be fondly remembered by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, his numerous colleagues and friends, especially Kathy & Morrey Cohen. Stan was passionate about his love of music. His musical career spanned 70 years. He was a member of the Windsor Federation of Musicians Local 566 since 1931 and held virtually every position on the executive including President. He played the stand-up bass and guitar in several bands and clubs throughout the Windsor and Essex County area. Stan was an analyst at Ford Motor Company for 42 years. He enjoyed 28 full years of retirement life, engaging in many interests. Stan was an avid sportsman, taking part in bowling, curling, golf, and hockey leagues, hunting, fishing and boating. He was a member of the Riverside Sportsman's Club, Windsor Curling Club, Windsor Air Force Club and The H.M.C.S. Hunter. Stan was a strong supporter of the Union through his leadership and advisory roles. He was a founding member of UAW (Ford) Local 240 and served as past president of the CAW Retirees Association, as well as musical director. Papa had 59 years of continual service with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 94. Stanley served his country in the Royal Canadian Officers Core (R.C.O.C.), stationed in London and Ottawa. Stan loved life, travelled extensively, and lived life to the fullest. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue, (254-3223) , on Sunday and Monday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at The Church of the Ascension, 1385 University Ave. West, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Archdeacon Ronald Matthewman officiating. Interment Victoria Memorial Gardens. A Legion Service under the auspices of R.C.L. Branch 94 will be held Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the charity of your choice, or the Windsor Symphony Youth Orchestra in Stan's memory may be made.
