SAUNDERS, Major Doris M. Promoted to Glory with her loving family by her side on February 7, 2005 at Windsor Regional Hospital at 52 years of age. Loving daughter of Ruby Parsons and the late Douglas Saunders. Cherished step-daughter of Tobias Parsons. Beloved sister of Joyce Keats (Leo), Charlie Saunders (Daphne), Major Glenys Pilgrim (Major Dale), Wallace Saunders (Rochelle). Loving aunt of Sherry (Craig), Shauna (Jason), Trina (Kelly), Tanya (Travis), Julia, Janine, Jordan, and Taylor. Special great aunt to Daniel and Devon. Loving step sister to an extended family. Dearest friend of Major Brenda Holnbeck. Will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Doris served The Salvation Army for 31 years and was currently an Associate Corps Officer at Eastwood Citadel/ Community Church. She also served in several appointments in Newfoundland, Manitoba, New York and Ontario. Doris enjoyed life, her family and will be sadly missed by all. Friends and Family will be received at the Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue (254-3223) on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 from 3:00 p.m. until the Service of Celebration at 5:00 p.m. Doris will then rest at the Oram Funeral Home in Dover, Newfoundland on Friday. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at The Salvation Hare Bay Corps. Interment Salvation Army Cemetery in Hare Bay, Newfoundland. In kindness, memorial donations to made to the Salvation Army Hare Bay Corps or The Salvation Army Eastwood Citadel would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank Saint Elizabeth Home Care and nurses and also the doctors and nursing staff at Windsor Regional Hospital I.C.U. for their kindness and compassion, and also her Corps family at Eastwood Citadel for their continuous loving support through Doris illness.
