FARLEY, Edward 84 Years, passed away peacefully February 8, 2005 at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Former husband of May Farley. Dear father of Patricia and her husband Ken Compton, Laraine and husband Eric Russell, John and wife Mary-Jo Farley, Robert and Jim Farley. Dear brother of Gracie White (Fla.) and Ralph Farley (Michigan). Dear friend of Kathy Drouillard. Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Edward joined the Essex Scottish Regiment in Sept. of 1939 and went overseas in July of 1940. He was involved in the Dieppe raid (August 1942) where he fought in heavy action and was taken prisoner for the remained of World War II. He was also a lifetime member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #143. He was the owner operator of Ed Farley Trucking for many years and retired from Smith Brothers Trucking. He was a resident of Ash Grove Manor. A cremation has taken place. The cremated remains will be interred at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. Janisse Bros.-Marcotte Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Special thanks to the staff of Hotel Dieu for their care and comfort. A tree will be planted in memory of Edward Farley in the Janisse Bros.-Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held September 25, 2005. All are welcome.
