GIGNAC, Norman 73 years, on February 12, 2005 as a result of a heart attack while returning from daily mass. Beloved husband of 49 years of Elaine (nee Lachance). Loving father of Mark, of Seattle, WA.; Brian and wife Monica, of Belle River; Jim and wife Karen, of Belle River; and Karen Vizner, of Tecumseh. Dear son of the late Lucien and Jeanne (nee Asselin). Dear Pepe of Michael and Aaron, of Seminole, FL.; Jean-Paul, Jonathon, Matthew, and Elizabeth; Jaime and Jacob; Alicia and Ryan. Dear brother of Simone Scott (Don), Lorraine Walker (Marcel), Sr. Corinne Gignac, S.N.J.M., Rachelle Peltier (Moe), Claire Hryniw (Larry) (1977), Len Gignac (Mary Lynn), Yvette, Michele Roy (Andre), and will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Norm retired from CKLW TV Station and the Cleary Auditorium, and was a member of the Fr. Nicholas Point Council 4375 Tecumseh Knights of Columbus and secular Franciscan Order. Norm dedicated much of his free time as a volunteer in his beloved St. Anne Parish as a Eucharistic Minister, as a visitor to Brouillette Manor and Banwell Gardens (Versa Care), teaching the rosary to children at St. Pius X School, visiting homes with the Listening Christ Crucifix and Statue of Mary and was part of a team of dedicated paper carriers with the Windsor Star. Special thanks to the nursing staff and physicians at Metropolitan Campus for their extraordinary compassion and assistance during this very difficult time. Visiting Monday, from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at The Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Rd., Tecumseh (735-2830). Knights of Columbus prayers Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. followed by Parish prayers Tuesday at 7:20 p.m. Visiting continues after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at St. Anne Church. A eulogy will take place at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Robert Couture will be the celebrant. Interment at St. Anne Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, an act of kindness or gesture of compassion to someone would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Norm Gignac in the Marcotte Heritage Forest.
