FUNSTON, Betty Ivy (nee Akers) Peacefully, at her residence, on Friday, February 11, 2005 , in her 77th year, Betty went home to be with the Lord she loved. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Edwin James Funston (Jan. 7th, 1976), her father, Cyril George Akers, and her mother Elsie (nee Hobbs). Betty was a longtime Adherent of The Salvation Army, Peterborough Temple, as well as an active visitor for their Community Care Ministry. She was active, for many years as a reader, for the Ontario Audio Library Services, Trent University. Visitation will be held from noon until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. Major Greg Simmonds will officiate. Interment will take place in the spring at Mount Forest Cemetery.
