MATECIUK, George 75 years, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 19,2005 at Victoria Hospital-South Street Campus in London, ON. Beloved husband of the late Patricia (1993). Loving father of Paul and wife Nellie of Jackson Point, Sharon and husband Doug Pitre of Tecumseh, Karen and husband Brian Boal of Windsor and George and wife Jackie of Windsor. Predeceased by parents Paul and Frozina "Rose" Mateciuk. Dear grandpa to Christoper Pitre, wife Tanya and great-grandchild Aiden, Sarah Pitre and husband Josh and Brianna Boal. Will be sadly missed by dear friend Paulette Terkleson. Survived by brothers Victor and wife Bev, Orel and wife Vi, and sister Sylvia and husband the late Pete McTavish and predeceased by brother Nick. Special uncle to Susan and the late Mike Mateciuk and also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Marcotte Funeral Home & Chapel 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh (735-2830). Fr. Robert Couture officiating. Interment at Windsor Memorial Gardens. In kindness memorial donations to the Windsor-Essex County Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of George Mateciuk in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held September 25, 2005. All are welcome.
