NORTHEY, Melvin Elbert - Peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Pauline (nee Pengelley) for 53 years. Loving father of Janet (Reg Williams), Donna (Reg Nicholls) and Dori (Brian Axford). Grandfather of Christopher & Cara Nicholls and Shawn Axford. Predeceased by his parents Elmer Northey and Theresa Bulmer, two sisters Velma Hewitt, Hilda Carpenter, a brother Arnold Northey, a daughter Sharon and two sons James and Frederick. Also survived by four sisters Verna Todd (late Eldon), Evelyn (George Mraz), Ruth Whelan and Marie Hunt. He will also be missed by many other friends and relatives. He was a licensed carpenter and farmer all his life. Worked at McGuinnes Trailers and Ivey Trailers, Jackson Construction, finally Trinity College School in Port Hope and farmed in Bailieboro at "The Brocklands" overlooking Rice Lake. Friends will be received at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street from 7-9pm Friday, February 25th. Service will be held at CHRIST CHURCH, Bailieboro on Saturday, February 26th at 2:00 pm, with visiting one hour prior to service at the church. Reverend Steven Smith officiating.
