SMITH, Newton E. After a courageous battle with cancer and a life filled with faith and love, Newton passed away on March 2, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Loving father of Herma Brown, Alva Morris and Cassandra Brown. Dear grandpa of Christopher Hill, Jakob, Joshua and Jordan Morris. Beloved brother of Agatha Louis, Olga Cudjoe, Wilber Smith, Dr. Neville Smith, Iva Saunders and husband Milton Saunders. "Uncle Newton" will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. He was a retired Orderly from Hotel Dieu Hospital. Special thanks to friends, the staff of the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Hospice, Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus 3rd Floor, CCA, VON Nurses and Members of the S.D.A. Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Hospice of Windsor or the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family. Visiting at The Morris Sutton Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 68 Giles Blvd. E. (254-8633) on Saturday, March 5, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service from the Chapel on Sunday, March 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. Pastor Ulrich Unruh of S.D.A. officiating. A tree will be planted in memory of Newton Smith in the Morris Sutton Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held September 25, 2005. All are welcome. Published in the Windsor Star on 3/4/2005.
