MESSINA, Vincenzo March 11, 2005. Age 92. Beloved husband of Maria Anna (nee Giardina) Messina. Loving father of Antonina (Jack) Allen, Maria (Tom) Sandstrom and Richard (Julie) Messina. Proud grandfather of Lisa Allen, Michael (Lynn) Allen, Jennifer Allen, Lynn (Jeff) Smaka, Monica (Jesse) Madden and Katherine Messina. Dear great grandfather of Ashleigh and Meghan Allen, Cole and Clay Smaka, Gavin and Ava Madden. Survived by his brother Salvatore (Liboria) Messina of Canada, his sister Maria (Vito) Matranga of Italy. Preceded in death by his sister Lena (late Steve) Vivona, brother Pietro (Ignazia) Messina, Giuseppe (Francesca) Messina, Antonino Messina and Francesco Messina. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral mass Monday, March 14, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, 771 Old Perch Road, Rochester Hills, MI. The family will receive friends Saturday, 4-9 p.m. and Sunday 1-8 p.m. at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd., Rochester, Mich. Scripture service Sunday 3:00 p.m. Mr. Messina will lie instate at Church 10:30 a.m. until time of mass. Memorials to the family to be used for a future memorial in Mr. Messina's name.
