DAVEY, William John Passed away peacefully in his home on March 15th at the age of 82, after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Alice (March 11, 1991). Cherished father of Bruce, Janis and husband Rocky, Brian and wife Diane, Leslie and wife Joyce, Gail and husband Doug, and father figure to Tom. Devoted grandpa of 11 grandchildren. William was a veteran of WWII, he served as a flight engineer in the RCAF. He retired from Bell Canada after thirty-seven years of service. He had a special talent for building things such as an airplane and a boat. He spent many happy years as an amateur radio operator with his sons and did volunteer work for the blind. He enjoyed his daily routine of Tim Hortons with friends, and a visit with his sons at their machine shop. He was a kind and gentle soul to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and remembered for his compassion and generosity. A special thanks to the CCAC and hospice for their kindness. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. with the Windsor Veterans Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at The Marcotte Funeral Home & Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Rd., Tecumseh 735-2830, on Friday, March 18, 2005. Time to be determined. Interment St. Anne Cemetery. A tree will be planted in memory of William Davey in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held September 25, 2005.
