RICE, Wayne J. 68 years, on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Metropolitan Campus. Beloved husband of 40 yrs to Angela (Joch). Dear father of Michael Wayne and wife Lynne, Charles Antonin and wife Kerri, James Jerome and wife Andrea and Richard George. Predeceased by his late son Stephen (1968). Grampy to Anjelica, Steven, Mackenzie, Katrynne, Joshua and Maya. Godfather of Paul Taylor and Ken Jubenville. Dear brother of Thelma Pepper and husband Lloyd and predeceased by Clifford. Wayne was the proprietor of Wayne J. Rice and Associates for 10 years in Belle River. He was a member of the St. Simon & St. Jude Ushers Club, R.C.L. Branch 465, Merlin, and was also the Volunteer of the Year for the United Way of Windsor-Essex and Belle River. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree Council #11891 Corpus Christi, Merlin, and 4th degree Andrew Michael Taggart Assembly. Visiting Saturday, April 2 and Sunday April 3 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral procession leaves Monday, April 4, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. from Melady Funeral Home, 572 Notre Dame, Belle River, 728-1500 to St. Simon & St. Jude Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Anthonys Cemetery, Chatham at 3:00 p.m. Parish prayers Sunday at 4 p.m. K of C 3rd & 4th degree Prayer Service with Presentation of Chalice Sunday at 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society for Research. A tree will be planted in memory of Wayne Rice in the Melady Heritage Forest. A dedication will be held Sept. 25, 2005. All are welcome. Published in the Windsor Star on 4/1/2005.
