DAME, Shirley --BENOIT, Shirley 72 years, passed away with her family by her side, on April 3, 2005, at Metropolitan Campus. Beloved wife of 37 years to Wilfred "Buck" and the late Alphonse Dame (1966). Dear mother of Ron Dame and wife Janine. Grandmother of Jennifer and husband Chris Malone, Michael Dame and Crystal Dame. Great-grand-mother to be of baby boy Malone. Survived by sister Eva Kelly and brother George Claybourne, and predeceased by sisters Dorothy Pretty (2000) and Violet Coward (2002). Sister-in-law to Dorothy See-ger, Ursala Benoit, Bernadette Poupard, Gloria Jean Witowski, Betty Brunelle, Jacqueline and husband Ernie Grant, Rosaline Benoit, Agnes Hebert, and predeceased by many in-laws. Will be missed by special friend and neighbour Marilyn Jacobsen and family. Shirley was a waitress at Abars for 26 years. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will take place at Marcotte Funeral Home & Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh (735-2830), on Saturday, April 9, 2005, from 12:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Fr. Robert Couture officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow at St. Anne Cemetery. In kindness, memorial donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation Windsor Essex Chapter would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Shirley Benoit in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held September 25, 2005. All are welcome. Published in the Windsor Star on 4/8/2005.
