BLACK, Robert Niven (May 3, 1921 - April 4, 2005) - Lovingly remembered by daughter Barbara and son-in-law Malcolm Turner. Dad remained all of curious, optimistic, polite, witty, trusting, trustworthy, opinionated and stubborn until the end. His unfailing character inspired us. Pre-deceased by his first wife Marion (1978) and second wife Olive Elizabeth (2003). Happiest when golfing, fishing, reading, working on a short story, telling a story, or listening to piano music. A career in softwood lumber brought moves across Canada and friends in every city he called home. Bob and Liz enjoyed living both on the lakes in the Peterborough, Ontario area, and on the links in Osoyoos, British Columbia. Respecting Dad's wishes, no service will be held, and his ashes will be returned home to Fenelon Falls, Ontario to be placed near his parents and grandparents. 4/7/2005- ID5955778 - Peterborough Examiner
