GATFIELD, Florence Jeanette 96 years, died peacefully on April 22, 2005, in Amherstburg. Predeceased by her parents Maud Florence (nee McEvoy) and John S. Gatfield. Beloved sister of Fr. Edward P. Gatfield Fr. Ted. Predeceased by her brothers John McEvoy, William Henry, and sister Mary Alice. She will be sadly missed by her nephews John Edward and wife Mary Ann (Tecumseh), William Bernard and wife Janice (Calgary), Joseph Michael (Windsor). Dear great aunt of Kaila and Bill (Calgary). Florence was a CWL member and Legion of Mary member for many years. She also was a avid bridge player and a prominent member of the Amherstburg Community. Florence was retired as the Registrar of Land & Deeds of Essex County. Visiting Sunday and Monday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the JAMES H. SUTTON FUNERAL HOME, 401 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg (736-2134). Prayers Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, April 26th, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John The Baptist Church. Fr. Ted Gatfield officiating. PLEASE NOTE: NO PROCESSION FROM THE FUNERAL HOME. Family and friends are requested to meet at St. John The Baptist Church from 10:15 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.. Interment St. John The Baptist Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, donations to St. John the Baptist Church Parish Improvement Fund would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Florence Gatfield in the Sutton Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held Sunday September 25,2005. All are welcome.
