SLABBEKOORN, Quinten 80 years on Monday, April 25, 2005, at the Leamington District Hospital. Late of Redwood Avenue in Kingsville. Loving husband of Wilhelmina (VanHeyningen). Dear father of Astrid and her husband Tom Sudds of Leamington, Edward Christopher and his wife Betteann of Kingville, and the late Virginia (1989). Beloved grandfather of Aaron, Amy, Alyssa, Janine, and Blair, and great-grandchildren Morgan and Breeann. Also survived by 3 sisters in Holland and predeceased by 2 brothers in Holland. "Quint" came to Canada in 1954 and worked as a farmer in Hamilton before moving to Leamington and working in Cottam with Erie Nurseries. In the late 1950's Quint started the Tritoma Nurseries on a small 4 acre farm on County Road 34. Over the years and through many expansions, Quint had became known as the "Landscape Guru" until the age of 80 years when his failing health forced him to retire. He was a member of Landscape Ontario, the Toastmasters, and the Leamington Sertoma Club. Visiting at the Hammond Funeral Home, 318 Erie Street South, Leamington (326-8423) on Wednesday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Fuenral Service from the funeral home on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Liz Chaplin officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Leamington. Memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Essex County Burn Unit.
