LEAHY, Sister Jeannette At Ignatia Hall, Mount St. Joseph, London, On., on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, Sister Jeannette Leahy (Sister Mary Evangelista) of the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London in her 83rd year and her 64th year of religious life. Lovingly remembered by her Sisters, Cecilia (Shiell) and Eva (Gardiner) nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by her parents Joseph William Leahy and Evan Maud Carson and Sisters, Sister Rose Leahy, Gertrude (Waterstreet), Jeannette Leahy, Kathleen (Smith), Agnes (Hefferman) and brother William Leahy. Sister Jeannette Leahy received her Teaching Certificate in 1943 and most of her 31 years of teaching were in the Windsor, Maidstone and Leamington area. Her many years of teaching were a source of enjoyment to her and those with whom she worked. After retirement from 1988 to 2000 Sister Jeannette went to Edmonton where she continued her teaching ministry by tutoring children are a volunteer. In 2000 Sister Jeannette came to London and resided at Ignatia Hall, Mount St. Joseph, London. Sister Jeannette's radiant smile will be missed by the nursing staff and her friends in community. Resting at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, 1486 Richmond Street N., London , on Thursday, May 5th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Vigil Service at Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, London, on Thursday, May 5th at 7:30 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Chapel, Mount St. Joseph Motherhouse, London, on Friday, May 6th at 10:00 A.M.
