RICHMOND, Ann (nee Atkins) 74 years, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Iler Lodge, Essex. Formerly of Gesto. Beloved wife and best buddy for 47 years to Bill (William) Richmond. Loving mother of Gale Richmond (Passa), Brian Richmond and wife Sandy, Bradley Greenaway and wife Jean. Cherished grandmother of Derek, Tyler and Mitchell Passa; Brandon and Jessica Richmond; Jillian and Thomas Greenaway. Survived by one brother Dennis Atkins, special niece Marlene and by other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, William and Nellie Atkins, of Simcoe area (Townsend Center); brothers, Brian, Fred, Harry and Bill Atkins and sister Henrietta Atkins (Barber). Ann was a member of the Gesto-Maidstone United Church Parish, and enjoyed singing in the church choir and at community events. With her family, church, tennis and golf, her life was full. Then, it was all taken from her by unexplained dementia, which she fought with good humour and patience for many years. We are deeply indebted for the exceptional care and understanding extended to Ann by the staff of Iler Lodge. At Ann's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation and interment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Oldcastle. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor & Essex County, with our thanks and appreciation, by contacting the Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Avenue East, Essex at 776-4233.
