Joan Clara Barr (née Hire) February 03, 1933 - April 09, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) BARR (Hire), Joan Clara - 72, Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully with her family at home on April 9, 2005. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Owen Roberts and Edna Florence (Vieth) Hire. In her younger years she worked for Maritime Paper Company in Halifax. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Meisner, Ontario; Donna Belair (Andrew), Ontario; Mary Findlay (Doug), Bedford; Shelley Barr, Lower Sackville; sons, Gary Barr, Brian Barr, both of Ontario; brothers, Kenneth Hire (Marcella), Ronald Hire (Darlene), both of Lower Sackville; sisters, Joyce Hill (George), Shirley O'Sullivan, Barbara Rudge (Albert), all of Lower Sackville. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Fenwick Barr; brother, John Robert Hire, and grandson, Tyler Kenneth Barr. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, where visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, with memorial service 3 p.m. Tuesday. Interment in Oakridge Memory Gardens. Donations may be made in Joan's memory to Canadian Cancer Society. On-line condolences to:
