Walter Byrne August 26, 1929 - April 26, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Melady Funeral Home & Chapel 75 years, on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at WRHC-Metropolitan Campus with his family at his side. Reunited with his wife Betty (nee Martindale, 1999). Dear father of Charleen Rivet and Cecil, Jean Ann Goodrich and Ed, Charlie Byrne and Susan Belcourt-Byrne, Mark Byrne and Dawn Solski, Carol Tessier and Joseph, Scott Byrne and Beverley Cochrane. Dear Grandpa to Brent, Sharon, Bonnie, Ashley, Kelly, Sean, Jamie and Dayna. Great-Grandpa to Donna Jean and Kay-Jay. Dear brother of Betty Williams, predeceased by Harold, Bernard, Lawrence, Don, Theresa Kerr, Margaret Ballantyne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Walter was a retiree of Daimler Chrysler with 33 yrs of service. He was also a member of the C.A.W. Local 444. Visiting Friday, April 29 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral procession leaves Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. from Melady Funeral Home, 572 Notre Dame, Belle River, 728-1500 to St. William Church, Emeryville for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow at Greenlawn Crematorium with interment of Walter’s ashes at St. William Cemetery at a later date. Parish prayers Friday evening. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A tree will be planted in memory of Walter Byrne in the Melady Heritage Forest.
