Melva Alfreda Harold (née Drummond) December 17, 1946 - April 09, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) HAROLD, Melva Alfreda - 58, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 9, 2005, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born December 17, 1946 in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alfreda (Sparks) Drummond. Melva was a teacher in Cherry Brook, worked at the Department of Social Services and finally at the Dartmouth General Hospital Emergency Department for over 25 years. She was a member of the New Covenant Ministries Church and vice-president of her senior's group, Lake Loon/Cherry Brook Senior Citizens' Group (LCSC). She lived life to its fullest, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, baking and sewing. Melva is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rosemond; children, Lindsay Alexander (Angela) Drummond, DeNeen (Tero) Harold-Vaananen, Rosemond "Ross" (Erin) Harold; grandchildren, Shyneen "Candy", Shana, Lexy, Joseph, Xavier, one more on the way; sisters, Iona Elms, Nola Holloway, Alyce Beals-Thomas; brothers, Terrence and Gilford Drummond; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Heather; brother, Warren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where the family will receive friends from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today and Wednesday. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Cherry Brook United Baptist Church, Rev. Wayne Desmond officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Family flowers only.
