Thomas Joseph Johnson August 06, 1921 - April 17, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) JOHNSON, Thomas Joseph - 83, North Preston, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 17, 2005, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born August 6, 1921, in North Preston, he was a son of the late Willoughby and Annie (Beals) Johnson. Thomas was a member of Saint Thomas United Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Brotherhood and the cemetery committee. He was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces and was a member of the Free Mason Lodge. He was employed at Citadel Hill for many years and at CFB Shearwater until his retirement. Thomas is survived by sons, Garnet (Ann), Gary (Violet), Everett (Betty), Steven (Kathy), all of Dartmouth; Thomas III (Elaine), Bruce (Juanita), North Preston; Wayne (Gloria), North Carolina; Vernon, Ottawa; Maynard, Toronto; daughters, Donna (Foster), North Preston; Deborah (Robert), East Preston; Elizabeth, Cole Harbour; 35 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; brother, Arnold (Josephine); sister, Beatrice Jackson; Godchildren, Burley McClain, James Fraser, Terrance Smith, Ann Simmons. He was predeceased by wife, Mayola (Smith); brothers, Willoughby Jr., Carleton; sisters, Gladys, Evelyn, Mary, Muriel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where the family will receive friends from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in East Preston United Baptist Church, Rev. Wallace Smith officiating. Interment in Saint Thomas United Baptist Church Cemetery. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Thomas' memory to Annie V.
