Georgina Kitchen June 19, 1920 - April 03, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Following courageous battles of many surgeries and illnesses over the years, mom passed away on April 3, 2005 at the age of 84. She was an amazing woman who never gave up. She came back from the edge of death time after time because of the power of prayer and her determination to live. She is survived by those who loved her dearly; Clint, her husband of 62 years; daughter Merilyn Kemp (Dayton); sons, James Kitchen (Linda), Omer Kitchen (Brenda); grandchildren, Steven, Bruce, David (Carol), Chris (Rhonda), Bryan, Jonathan, Janice and Jamie; great grandchildren, Zachary, Nathan, Naomi and Julia. Mom and dad met and fell in love during World War II. She lived on Kitson Street in Norwood for almost all her life until she and her husband, Clint, retired. They spent many retirement summers at their hobby farm “The Willows” and their winters in Florida. Mom was an organized person who enjoyed crafts, painting, and shopping with friends. She loved animals and nature. Mom had the gift of communication, conversation, and unconditional love for everyone who crossed her path. She was long suffering and a sweet, gracious lady. Thank you God for answering our prayers and letting our mother recover so many times so we could have more time with her. We will all miss her so much. The family thanks the nurses and staff of Charleswood Care Center, for their special care during this difficult week, and for their continued care of our dad; and thanks to Dr. Phillip Erhard for his excellent care over the years. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethesda Church, 1350 Grant Avenue with a reception to follow. SAFE IN THE ARMS OF JESUS TILL WE MEET AGAIN.
