George "Ernie" Ernest Lockerby May 14, 1911 - April 04, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) LOCKERBY, George Ernest "Ernie" - 93, Halifax, passed away peacefully April 4, 2005, in Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Born in Hamilton, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Frederick John an Minnie (Ramsay) Lockerby. Ernie's loves were his family, his years at the cottage, and a good game of crib. His healthy lifestyle enabled him to enjoy many years of the activities he enjoyed so much: golfing, walking and a swim at the lake. Ernie will be remembered by his family and friends for his honest considerate nature and his quiet gentle demeanor. Surviving are daughter, Helen (Tim Murphy), Prince Edward Island; son, John (Linda), Halifax; grandchildren, Jason and Jaimie, both of Halifax. He was predeceased by his wife, Daisy. Visitation will take place 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, from where the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Sandra Cox officiating. Burial will take place in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. If so desired, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
