Elton Harold HOOD

Elton Harold Hood August 14, 1930 - June 10, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Duncan) Mr. Elton Harold Hood beloved husband of Therese Hood of Duncan, passed away suddenly in Cowichan District Hospital, June 10, 2005 in Duncan, BC. He was 74 years of age. Elton was born in Kellross Municipality, Saskatchewan; son of Thomas and Mary Hood on August 14, 1930. As a young man he attended Johnson School. Elton’s family moved to Porcupine Planes, Saskatchewan. Elton eventually bought Johnson School and set up a welding/blacksmith shop. He worked many years there, later moving to West Bend, Saskatchewan to buy a doublewide trailer and shop. In 1992 he met Therese Desrochers and married on January 30, 1993. Elton is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary Hood; nephew Royce Hood and five brothers Floyd, Ray , Ken, Fred and Clayton. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Therese of Duncan; his sister Doris Ford (Geoff) of Nipiwan, SK; their children Brad (Barbara) of Calgary, AB and Janis (Earl) Reese of Nipiwan, SK; sister-in-law Christie Hood of Kelliher, SK; nephew Cyril (Shirley); sister-in-law Bernice Hood; nephew Ralph (Trudy) Hood and niece Judy (Larry) Desrochers; many great-nieces and nephews; step-sons Roland (Joyce) Desrochers of Lake Cowichan, BC and Edward Desrochers of Crofton, BC; step-daughter Shirley (Bill) Parks of Duncan, BC; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many friends. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC with a luncheon to follow in Sands Reception Centre.
