Isabel Zipporah Stevens (née Shinnawap) February 11, 1934 - June 08, 2005 Peacefully in her sleep at her residence Isabel Stevens of Winnipeg and formerly of Big Trout Lake First Nation, Ontario, passed away on Wednesday June 8, 2005 at the age of 71 years. Isabel was born at Bearskin Lake Ontario on February 11, 1934, spending most of her life in Winnipeg. She enjoyed cooking and loved being with her children and grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her children; David Stevens Jr., Ken Stevens (Joanne), Willard Stevens, Anna Belanger (Marc) and Wendy Read, husband David Stevens Sr., 3 sisters; Eliza Childs, Jean Wood (Ed) and Miriam Bishop (Doug). There are 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Jeremiah and Ellen, daughter Tina and sister Gieza. Prayers will be said on Friday, June 10 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg. Prayers will be said on Saturday, June 11, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13 at noon at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Sioux Lookout, Ontario with Rev. Kathy Giroux officiating. Eulogy will be given by Anna Mae Belanger. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
